Gliders in the sky
The purest form of aeroplane, a glider. The Wright brothers built a glider version of their Wright Flyer before installing an engine. From the days of linen covered wood construction, gliders or sailplanes are now built of fibreglass, carbon-fibre and Kevlar. Modern computer aided design has led to gliders of remarkable high performance, technical marvels capable of flying tremendous distances and attaining great heights. This T-shirt shows the most basic of primary gliders from the 1939s to the latest inovation of nose mounted electric engines for self launching.
